A tribute program was organized at the residence of BJP National General Secretary Tarun Chugh in New Delhi to mark Bharat Ratna Dr. B.R. Ambedkar’s Mahaparinirvan Diwas.

The event, hosted by the Dr. Syama Prasad Mookerjee Research Foundation (SPMRF), honored Babasaheb’s unparalleled contributions to India’s social transformation. It also celebrated Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s historic recognition of Pali as a Classical Language—a milestone widely praised for preserving the rich heritage of Lord Buddha.

Remembering Dr. Ambedkar, he said, “Dr. Ambedkar is the central figure of 20th-century India who championed social justice for Indian society. His monumental contribution, the Constitution of India, will always be remembered. Over the next 60 days, the BJP will go door-to-door across the country to educate people about the Constitution of India.”

Eminent monks, scholars, and dignitaries praised Prime Minister Modi for his commitment to preserving Buddhist teachings and fostering global peace. They hailed the recognition of Pali as a landmark step in strengthening India’s position as a global hub for Buddhism.

Among the distinguished attendees were B.L. Santhosh, Dr. Anirban Ganguly, Ven. Sanghasena Bhikkhu, Ven. Lama Chosphel Zotpa, Acharya Yeshi Phuntsok, Ven. Dipankara Sumedho Bhante, Tashi Gyalson, Mrs. Rinchen Lamo, and Subroto Barua.

The event also saw the participation of key organizations, including the Maha Bodhi Society of India, Mongolian Buddhist Association, Moghalmari Buddhist Association, International Buddhist Confederation, Buddha Triratna Mission, Mahabodhi International Meditation Centre, Buddhist Welfare Mission, Ladakh Autonomous Hill Development Council, National Commission for Minorities, and the Santiniketan Ambedkar Buddhist Welfare Mission.

The dignitaries commended the Modi government for its tireless efforts to uplift socio-economically disadvantaged communities and ensure inclusivity and progress for all. Chugh added, “Under PM Modi’s leadership, India is promoting Lord Buddha’s message of peace, which now serves as a guiding principle for our domestic and global policies.”

This tribute program, held at Tarun Chugh’s residence, not only celebrated Dr. Ambedkar’s visionary contributions but also highlighted the enduring relevance of Lord Buddha’s teachings in fostering harmony and progress in contemporary times.
