BJP National General Secretary Tarun Chugh today said that the Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s decision to recognise Pali as a classical language will strengthen cultural bonds in Ladakh.
He added that it will also go a long way in restoring respect to the age old tradition of Ladakh. According to a press release, he was speaking at a conference on Pali language and Buddhism organised by the All Ladakh Gonpa Association (ALGA) in Leh. Chugh also appreciated the organisers for their commendable efforts in promoting this initiative.
Highlighting the universal values of peace and non-violence championed by Lord Buddha, the BJP leader lauded Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s unwavering commitment to spreading Buddhist philosophy on a global platform. “ I urge everyone to continue advocating for Lord Buddha’s teachings, which hold immense relevance in today’s world,” Chugh said.
Dr Anirban Ganguly, Chairman of the Dr Syama Prasad Mookerjee Research Foundation (SPMRF), a New Delhi-based think tank, also addressed the gathering. He underscored the significance of Lord Buddha’s teachings and applauded PM Modi’s dedication to preserving and promoting India’s Buddhist heritage.
