A program on Challenges to Minority Safety in Bangladesh was jointly organized by the Dr. Syama Prasad Mookerjee Research Foundation and the Buddha Triratna Mission at 9 Ashoka Road, New Delhi.
The event brought together dignitaries and experts to discuss the pressing concerns surrounding the safety of minorities in Bangladesh.
BJP National General Secretary Tarun Chugh strongly criticized Bangladeshi Prime Minister Yunus and his government for failing to protect minorities.
Speaking at the event, he described Yunus as a failed leader and urged immediate action to address the atrocities faced by minorities.
Dr. Anirban Ganguly, Chairman of the Dr. Syama Prasad Mookerjee Research Foundation, delivered the welcome address. He expressed serious concerns about the increasing attacks on temples, violence against women, and forced religious conversions in Bangladesh.
Dr. Ganguly called these incidents not only tragic but damaging to Bangladesh’s international reputation, urging the government to take strict measures to curb such acts.
The program also honored retired Major General Anukul Chandra, AVSM, a hero of the 1971 Bangladesh Liberation War, for his outstanding contributions to the liberation movement.
Ven. Dr. Kachayan Shraman, General Secretary of the Buddha Triratna Mission, stressed the need for prioritizing the safety of minorities in Bangladesh while highlighting the importance of peace and unity in resolving these challenges.
Ven. Dipankar Sumedho, President of the Buddhist Cultural Foundation, expressed grave concern over the plight of minorities and hoped for a swift resolution to these issues.
During the event, a unanimous resolution was passed, expressing deep concern over the ongoing situation in Bangladesh. The resolution called for strict action against those responsible for violence and unrest and demanded that the safety of all minorities in Bangladesh be ensured.
The program was inaugurated by Subrata Borua, Executive President of the Buddha Triratna Mission, and concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Prof. P. Kanaga Sabhapathi, Secretary of the Dr. Syama Prasad Mookerjee Research Foundation.
